Encore is a leading interactive publisher in the videogame and PC CD-ROM markets. In August 2002, Encore became a wholly owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation, a Minneapolis MN-based distributor of a broad range of home entertainment and multimedia software products. Encore continues to operate as an independent publishing entity headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

Bassett & Brush Design began working with Encore Software in the spring of 1996 on an initial project, titled Math Resource Center. This was a joint venture project with Countertop Software, a company which would eventually become TOPICS Entertainment, Inc.

Encore Software was on the verge of explosive growth if they could find a design firm that could provide the level of packaging design that would penetrate markets and increase sales. After the initial project proved to be such a success, Encore Software asked Bassett & Brush Design to collaborate on future products. Bassett & Brush handled design of Encore's packaging and related collateral materials almost exclusively from 1996 until 1999, during which Encore Software rose to be ranked as the 25th largest software publisher in the United States.
